You've decide to
sell your car, and want the best price for it. Well
our simple guide will tell you how. Follow it and
you will receive top price for it. You cannot do anything
about the mileage and age of car, but you can make
a big difference in your asking price by following
these simple points:
|
1.
Make sure it looks good. Not rocket
science, but you will be amazed how many people neglect
this. Wash it thoroughly, and then polish it, its
gleaming shine will appeal to buyers, as it shows
you are not hiding any scratches/dents etc. And don't
forget to clean the alloys!!
2. Body
damage. Needless to say get it fixed! Any
damage will result in a lower asking price by the
buyer, and may dishearten potential buyers. On older
cars, rust is a problem, thus carry out remedial work
and get the car looking to its former glory.
3. Inside
the car. A full clean out is needed, including
the carpets. The cleaner the car, the more likely
you are to sell it, a clean car in comparison to a
dirty one is worth thousands more.
4. Get it
serviced. Although an additional cost, it
gives you an edge over other sellers, as a buyer does
not have to worry about immediate service bills.
5. Paperwork.
Any additional repair work or service bills will prove
the vehicle has been looked after, so get these together
and use as a negotiating tool when deciding on the
price.

You're car looks
good, the buyer is interested and now comes the money.
You settle on a price, but like most thing the buyer
may not have the full money. In this case it is common
for the buyer to leave a deposit as security. In effect
he has purchased the vehicle and will provide the
rest of the money at a date convenient to you. Once
full monies have been transferred, hand over the keys,
exchange details and say “adios” to your
old car and “bonjour” to your new one!
